Events

ASG proudly participates in and sponsors a myraid of local and regional events ranging from running races to climbing festivals, to ski race series, to retailer events for staff, and demo days. These events are important to ASG because they foster community, build brand exposure, and educate consumers and retailers alike – all key elements of the ASG mission – (and also what drives us personally and professionally). Please see below for a sample of events we are dedicated to supporting year after year.

Demos

Below are pictures from some of our demo days, where staff and locals get to test products ranging from running shoes, climbing shoes, headlamps, and more.

Ouray Ice Festival

WHAT

The Ouray Ice Festival spans three days and four nights every January, transforming the town of Ouray into an ice climbing mecca with people from around the world gathering to celebrate the sport of ice climbing.

During the day, you might find yourself in a climbing clinic taught by elite athletes from all over the world. You can wander the Vendor Village and demo gear from outdoor brands. You can even watch our mixed climbing competition in the Scottish Gullies!

At night, Fest-goers head into downtown Ouray for presentations and movies from some of the best climbers in the world. We even have a huge dance party every Saturday night, the Petzl Party, which has a reputation of its own.

WHAT

Our festival is all about celebrating the community of climbing. When we come together at City Park and Wild Iris each year for traditions old and new, it’s a reminder of just how awesome this global climbing community is. We can celebrate our differences and similarities, strengths and struggles, and be reminded that we all share a common love.

Leadville 100

WHAT

La Sportiva is the Title Sponsor for the Leadville 100, one of the most challenging ultra races out there. The legendary “Race Across The Sky” 100-mile run is where it all started back in 1983. This is it. The race where legends are created and limits are tested. One hundred miles of extreme Colorado Rockies terrain — from elevations of 9,200 to 12,600 feet. You will give the mountain respect, and earn respect from all.

Cirque Series

WHAT

The Cirque Series is redefining what mountain running is all about. Starting from the base of a world-famous ski resort, you’ll rally up windswept ridges & glacial cirques to towering peaks, power down a quad-burning descent, break the tape into a festival of live music, food, drink, & vendor tents. The elevation is serious but the mileage is manageable, and the race is as hardcore as you want it to be. Beat the pros down to earn legend status & cash prizes, or enjoy the views & let the challenge be its own reward.

Utah Skimo

WHAT

Utah SkiMo is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the sport of ski mountaineering in Utah. We host a biweekly citizen event series during the winter and also work with ski mountaineering race and event promoters in Utah to help promote and sponsor ski mountaineering events. Utah SkiMo hosts a weekly event series for community members. The events are hosted in a local ski area on Tuesday nights and test skiers’ fitness and technique.

In addition to events, Utah Ski Mountaineering provides education to new and experienced skiers. In particular, we have a goal of increasing the participation in ski mountaineering through reaching out to juniors (14 to 22 year olds) and women.

WHEN

A biweekly and weekly series, all winter season
